Students have been learning about and loving money so much that we decided to give them the best real world application that we could think of, a "Class Store." Each week students earn money for doing their "job," which is their weekly homework. They have the opportunity to earn a nickel each week which then gets added to their bank account. At the end of each month, students are rewarded with a movie and an opportunity to use this "Motivational Money" at our store. Thank you to all of our parents who have donated treats, toys, stickers, and more! Students are responsible for knowing how much money they have, whether they have enough money to buy certain items, and how much change they should receive back! Miss Sanchez also threw in a little lesson about credit responsibility by reminding them that they cannot buy something if they don't have the money for it and also by teaching them when asked "Would you like to apply for a credit card?" to respond NO! :) We think that this monthly event is so much fun and such a great way for our students to truly apply their money skills in a REAL way! Watch the videos below and enjoy seeing learning at its best in action!

Loved the video! What a great idea to let families get a "sneak peek" of the classroom :)
